Hi there, my name is Aaron Engelberg (and my pronouns are he/they) and I am so happy to be part of such a talented and caring team. I am a fourth-year Clinical PsyD doctoral candidate completing my year-long practicum at re+active. My passion lies in understanding how each individuals unique brain intersects with individual factors, like identities, and how psychological assessment and therapy can serve to create greater mental wellness.
At re-active, I provide neuropsychological assessment as well as individual psychotherapy. Neuropsychological assessment—my area of interest—is a process whereby variety of psychological assessments are used to understand brain health and provide recommendations to empower individuals. This work also spans my psychotherapy work, in which I take a relational approach with clients, building a connection whereby insight and change can take place. In all my work, I focus on translating evidence-based theory and interventions into practice, while considering everyone’s unique context and identities to create meaningful change. This approach is matched with my physical and occupational theory colleagues, creating a unique, interdisciplinary, and holistic treatment approach.
Outside of re-active, I love to travel with my husband and friends—stopping along the way to collect unique ingredients and recipe ideas to bring home to cook. And if I see a favorite, or new and intriguing, band performing a concert along the way, embarrassing dancing will ensue!
